What is your sentence?

Posted on Updated on

Our very first assignment in the MAET (Master’s in Educational Technology) Program was to sum up ourselves in one personal sentence.  Let me tell you, that task is much more difficult than it may seem!  After gaining insight into what a personal sentence is through watching a youtube video, I had a much better idea as to where to start.  My sentence sums up what I try to do as an educator.  I want my students to have big dreams and to know that if they persevere, they can do anything they set their mind to.  I also try to instill in my students the value of making the world a better place.  When I say “world” I don’t want my students to think that they have to travel someplace far to make a difference.  It can start right in their own homes and classrooms.  A simple smile to someone struggling or an offer to play with someone different at recess, are both ways to make a positive impact.  Although these actions may seem small, the impact can be huge!
